"Authentication failed"
I have tried to log in to the VPN and get this message. What do I do??

So this is a glitch in the UCR system; it isn't anything that you are doing wrong.
When you first were given a temporary password with your NetID and you were told to change it, when you did so, it sent that information to many of the services that use your NetID and password to gain access (like your RMail, for example).
However, it didn't send that information to all the services that use it (like logging into the VPN).
To fix this, you, unfortunately, have to reset your password (Sorry!). Go to password.ucr.edu and login (it will work there; I promise). Then find the link to change your password. Once you do that, the message will get sent to every service now, and it will work (again, I promise!).
